Maison Yoshimi was born in this charming landscape. Chisato Yoshimi, a Japanese from Kyoto, felt in love with this village, beginning with the breathtaking view from her terrace. Today, even after more than 10 years, Chisato is still fascinated by this view, from the sunrise over the valley to the sunset on the Cévénnes mountains, reflecting on the stone walls of her village.
Centrally located in the Gard, between the historical cities of Nîmes and Alès, Vézénobres is a cultural crossroads, with a surprising cosmopolitan atmosphere in the heart of the nature. Maison Yoshimi is located in the center of the medieval town of Vézénobres and offers a magnificent view over the Cévennes mountains and the Gardon Valley. You will feel at home as soon as you arrive at Chisato's, your host.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and you will feel a Japanese influence, a discrete reminder of the origins of Chisato. Originally from Kyoto, Chisato Yoshimi carried the influence of her country into the heart of this French medieval village of Vézénobres. Ten years ago, she literally fell in love with this house and this village and was keen to renovate it respecting the charm, the style and the traditional architecture of the building.
A cafe and a restaurant are right accross the street. On the northern façade of la Maison Yoshimi, you may notice the evolution of the history of the village and the different periods of its transformation. On the South side, enjoy a magnificent 180° view on the Valley of the Gardon and a Mediterranean garden. The oldest wall of the cellar, from the 12th century, is one of the most beautiful in the village, and the presence of impressive "calaberts" (covered terraces used to dry figs) enhances the original character of the house.
Completely restored and modernized, the interior decoration is very luminous and contemporary. The 3 guestrooms can accommodate couples with or without children since the spaces are modular and can be transformed into family suites. Ideal for long holidays or short-stays, just to breathe facing the horizon and the immensity of a blue and sunny sky.
